August Sketch with Stash Challenge Inspiration by DT Brenda

Hello and Happy Friday!
I am the last designer on the inspiration train this month and I hope that you have enjoyed all of the FABULOUS "Summertime" and "Game On" inspired layouts our designers have shared with you daily during the month of August.

Today I am sharing two layouts I created inspired our
August  "Game On' Sketch with Stash Challenge

Here is the first layout:
"Let Ur Smile Be Ur Strategy"
"While digging through my stash and looking for game pieces, I found the chipboard dart and dart board in my Crate Paper "Toy Box", SCORE, these items matched up perfectly with the colors in EP's "For the Record " Collection.  The hardest part of putting this page together was coming up with a title.  I really wanted my title themed around the dart board, so  I  searched  sayings on google, and "whala", my title problem was solved!"

And here is my second layout:
"Memo"
"I turned the sketch 90° to the left to accomodate my photo!  For mys tash part of the challenge, I used a cardstock sticker (playing cards) I found in my old stash of Vegas embellishments and a bingo card from Simple Stories 24/7 collection.  Both of these gaming embellishments matched up welll with Echo Parks " Happy Days" Collection.  Again I used google and found a quote regarding cards that was perfect for a layout about my granddaughter because I feel she has a lot going for herself and we have many discussions on making the right choices to be successful and happy in life."
The quote:
"Life consists not only in holding good cards,
but in playing those cards well!"
~Josh Billings

Thank you for stopping by and if you did not get a chance to  play along with us this month, that is okay, we have two wonderful challenges planned for September as well as another surprise we will be revealing soon with an additonal challenge, inspiration and prizes!!!

Make sure you stop by tomorrow to see who won the random prize drawing for August and to see what entries were selected by our Design Team as their TOP 3 favs!

Have a  WONDERFUL and SAFE Labor Day weekend!

"I Think You Are Amazing" Layout by DT Rochelle

Hi Everyone!
It's time for our daily Design Team inspiration.
Today DT Rochelle is sharing a beautiful layout she created inspired by our
I really like how she changed up a few of the sketch elements and made it her own.
Let's take a look at what she created:
Rochelle: "I had so much fun with this sketch! I really wanted to make a pie chart but when I saw this fence sticker in the Echo Park This & That collection, I just had to use it. I had already knew I was going to run a vine through it. I love the outcome, not to mention I finally got to use a Prima mushroom I had been hoarding for a while!! I added the Oval circle in place of the pie chart in the sketch."

Don't miss out on your chance to be entered into our monthly prize drawing and/or being selected as one of our Design Team's Top 3 picks.   All you have to do is complete one or both of our August Challenges and link up on our sidebar by 11:59 PM (PST) tonight!
We would love to see your work!

Thank you for stopping by!  Come back tomorrow for more inspiration!
Happy Scrapping!

"Daddy's Girl" Layout by DT Manda

Hello!
It's time again for more of our daily Design Team inspiration!

Today, Manda is sharing this wonderful layout embellished with so many awesome elements!
Take a look at Manda's layout inspired by our
"Game On" Sketch with Stash Challenge:
Manda:  "I had a lot of fun with this sketch adding lots of layers and bits and pieces. I am currently working on a family album for my mum so I have been sorting through a lot of crazy 80's pics including this one of me with dad, I am not sure what he is wearing or why LOL. For the gaming pieces I used some scrabble tiles that I have had sitting around in my art cupboard (I actually bought them on ebay to use for crafting). To adhere them to the page I used Diamond Glaze, which is what I used to stick down the wood veneer as well."

Have you had a  chance to play along with us this month?   If not, you still have until midnight tomorrow night to complete one or both August Challenges and link it up for a chance to win our monthly prize!

"Family Fun Night" Layout by DT Lee-Anne

Hello and welcome to another day of Scrap Our Stash Design Team inspiration!
Today Lee-Anne is sharing this awesome layout she created inspired by our
and her families love for the game of Scattergories:
This is what Lee-Anne shared about her layout:
"My layout is of my parents and my daughter and son-in-law playing Scattergories. They love that game and since my daughter can't get home much to visit, it is always fun to play games with them. She has such a great sense of humor and always makes me laugh. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out some of my title and also my tags and spinner. The papers are from the Well Played Collection by Carta Bella. The Bingo card is an embellishment I had in my stash from Farmhouse Paper Company. There are also some splatters made with my Heidi Swapp Color Shine Mists as well as some enamel dots from Teresa Collins. Finally I added some flair buttons by The Paper Bakery, a chipboard title by American Crafts, some mini letter stickers from October Afternoon and some machine stitching and twine."

Feeling inspired?  You still have time to get your "Game On!"

"Watkins Glen Water Fall" Layout by DT Lindsey

Good Morning!
We our continuing this week with more Design Team creations inspired by our
Today's inspiration is being shared by DT Lindsey:
Lindsey: " I was so stumped by this challenge at first! But logic set in and I had a few aha! moments. My first idea was to scrap some pictures of one of the kids putting together Legos and actually attach some. Then I remembered my extensive playing card collection and went from there. It was a choice between Yankees cards, Georgia cards, Keuka Lake cards, or Watkins Glen (among sooo many others). The Glen is was, and this was one of my favorite pictures from our hike. What a fun it is to put actual souvenirs on the page!
Thanks for looking - please visit my Blog for more information."

Here's the August Sketch:

"Sleeping Cutie" Layout by DT Kerry

Hello All!!!
Today our adorable inspiration was created by DT Kerry!   Take a look at her super cute pie chart and the "adore" bingo card is perfect for photo:
Here is what Kerry shared about her layout:
"I have had the bingo cards for a long time and this challenge was the ideal time to use one of them. ADORE was the perfect fit for this layout of our cat Ginger who sleeps with his feet in the air and he looks so sweet and cute. The papers I used are from the Pebbles 'Cats and Dogs' line and I used some gold sticky mesh instead of paper across the page. I haven't got a paw print stamp so I used a stamp from Autumn Leaves 'Build -a-flower' set which seemed to go nicely and almost looks paw like! The journaling reads 'When he is asleep, Ginger is probably the cutest cat in the world' (maybe I'm a teensy bit biased?).
I had fun making this page and I hope you will join us with this sketch as we would love to see your interpretation."

Kerry's layout has to inspire you to your stash of "gaming" embellies, combine it with our
"Game On" Sketch with Stash Challenge
to create a  layout and link it up by August 29th for a chance to win our monthly prize.   We would love for you to share your work with us!

Enjoy your day and thank you for stopping by!

Are you ready for more awesome inspiration from our Design Team?
Today, DT Robin is sharing her this wonderful layout about her pups, inspired by our
Here's what Robin shared about her layout:
"I love my sketches. I may be too dependent on them. I guess that’s not so bad, especially when you have a chance to win a prize from Scrap Our Stash!

As much as I adore these products, I think I wouldn’t have used them until a challenge like this came along. Yes, I’m your typical hoarder. But, now that I’ve used them, I’ll have them in the back of my head and use those bingo pieces again in a future layout."
Tickets are Maya Road.
Papers are Jenni Bowlin.

Here is our August Sketch:

"Our Summer Went Llike This..." Layout by DT Jenni

Hello and thanks for stopping by!
Our fabulous inspiration today, is the work of DT Jenni!
What a super cute, fun take on our
"Game On' Sketch with Stash Challenge
Jenni: " I love sketches! It is such a great place to start and interpret into your own page with embellishments and papers! However, I actually struggled a bit with this one. I really wanted to use this photo and have so many great summer pics that need to be scrapped!

So, I tried to think of something other than a game piece or bingo card to use! These letter/color "playing cards" from Crate Paper's The Pier worked perfect! In fact, I didn't know how I would use them before...and the pool+sun=fun card is too cute. Instead of a piechart or game spinner I watercolored a giant water splat!

Now it's your turn to take the sketch and share your interpretation of it on the blog. Upload your layout to get a chance at this month's prize!!

Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!"

Please link your project no later then August 29th, to be considered in our Top 3 picks and to be entered into our monthly prize drawing.
One of our Top 3 picks will be asked to Guest Design in October.

See ya tomorrow for more Design Team inspiration!

"Breanna's x 2" Layout by DT Patricia

Hello there!
We are still getting our "Game On" here at Scrap Our Stash with our
Today's wonderful reveal using is being shared by DT Patricia!  I really like how Patricia incorporated a large as well as a small bingo card into her layout:
Patricia:  "This was a pretty fun challenge! I always love seeing the Jenni Bowling Bingo cards on layouts, but rarely end up using them on a layout! So, when the challenge came, I jumped to it! I also had the mini Bingo cards in my stash that I decided to use. Along with the Bingo cards I loved using the Crate Paper “The Pier” collection for this layout. The alphas came from Prima and I used the cute Maya Road flower to add to my embellishment fetish. Other embellies used were the Pier Slide Frames, Pinwheels and Flags. Fun! Fun! Fun!

The photos I used for this layout are pics of my little munchkin and a friend she met in Kindergarten. The unique thing about the two girls is they were in the same class, both their names are Breanna and then they later learned that they were neighbors, just a few doors down. Breanna’s x 2!

We hope you are enjoying all of the awesome inspiration the SOS Design Team has been sharing with you and that it motivates you to dig into your stash of "gaming" embellies and create a layout to link up with us by Aug 29th to be entered into our randomly drawn drawing for the following prize:
Jillibean Soup 12 x12 "Game Day" Collection Kit:

Today DT Joefil is sharing this super cute layout about her daughter playing the piano:
Joefil:  "I had this photo of my daughter that I really wanted to scrap for a long time but I just could not find the right design for a layout.  When I saw this month's sketch, I know this is the right one! I love how it turned out.
I used Basic Grey papers, the tags and the bingo card are from my stash, and the bubble speech is from Recollections.  I also added some splatters to the page with Heidi Swapps Black Velvet and Primrose Color Shine."

"Mr & Mrs" Layout by DT Elizabeth

Happy Sunday Everyone!!
Today our Design Team inspiration is the fabulous work of DT Elizabeth.  When I created this sketch and added the "game pieces" for this month's sketch challenge, I never imagined a wedding layout could be created with this challenge, but Elizabeth got very creative with her scrap supplies and used this challege to scrap a speccial moment during her recent wedding.  I really love how she used the wooden games pieces to create the date.  Take a look at her amazing layout:
This is what Elizabeth shared about her layout:
"This was a challenge to say the least! Finding bingo things were hard, but I realized I had bingo circles and started to look at those. I had odd numbers left over in my stash and as I sat there looking at them, I realized that I had numbers that were the date for our wedding! I based my entire layout on the date and the usage of the bingo thingys and created one of my favorite layouts to date! Not only did I pull the challenge off, its our first official layout of our wedding!"

So what will you do with this sketch and what game piece or card will you dig out of your stash to add a palyful element to your layout?   We would love to see your work, so link up your entry using Mr Linky on the right side of our blog.   You have until August 29th to complete our
as well as our
for a chance to win our monthly prize.

Thank you for stopping by and make sure you come back tomorrow for more Design team inspiration!

Have a great week!

"Lucky Having You" Layout by DT Dulcinea

Back on the blog today sharing another DT reveal inspired by our
"Game On!"

DT Dulcinea proves that Bingo is not just about the competiton and prizes anymore!
I really love her precious layout about her fur baby, and how she used a bingo card and wooden bingo game pieces to embellish and help tell her story about her kitty:
Dulcinea share this about her layout:
"All my games card and pieces are on my layout. I don’t have much of them, so when I knew about this challenge I grab them and stare at for inspiration. That lucky bingo card give me the idea for the story. Last year, my husband and I adopted Ulua, an abandoned cat left on the street close to the coffee shop we go. It was close to the winter, so despite we never had a cat before, only dogs, we brought him home. Everyone said he is a lucky kitty, but we also think we are lucky to have his companionship since he is so sweet and kittenish. After I have the story decided, I found some cute pictures of him, I turned the sketch on 90º and just let my creativity works."

Show us how you get your "Game On!"   You have until August 29th to create a layout and link it up for a chance to enter into our monthly prize drawing!

Thank you for visiting us today and make sure you return tomorrow for more "gaming" inspiration!

"Let's Play" Layout by DT Carol

“Each player must accept the cards life deals him or her: but once they are in hand, he or she alone must decide how to play the cards in order to win the game.” - Voltaire

I would say Carol played her cards right!
Check out how she rocked the August Sketch Challenge by creating this fabulous layout themed around Uno playing cards!
Carol:  "I was so excited when I saw this challenge! I had the perfect photo and the perfect elements to use! And the colors of Crate Paper DIY Shop collection were perfect to go with the UNO card!
In the picture you can see my son and I (well, only my cards I guess...) playing our favorite card game: UNO. And the journaling says: "We love playing UNO but the TV gets in our way sometimes." Can you tell?"

Time for you to dig into your "gaming" embellishments or cards OR gather up some  miscellaneous game pieces from around the house and upcycle them by using on a layout.  We would love to see what you come up with.

"Bali" LO by DT Manda M.

Chevrons]  !!! Who doesn't love chevrons?? DT Manda does such a wonderful job on her summer themed layout with chevrons.  Great choice of collection for this layout.
Manda: "I found this photo of me forever ago of the first time I went to Bali and I just had to scrap it. I have been to Bali almost every year since my first visit because I really love the people and the culture. I wanted to repeat the flower in my hair in some sort of motif, I dug into my stash and found a Dear Lizzy chipboard flower but it was pink which just did not work, so I decided to alter it. I took my Versamark pen and coloured the parts I wanted to emboss then added yellow embossing powder so it was a match to the one in the photo."

COMB BACK TOMORROW FOR OUR SKETCH WITH STASH CHALLENGE REVEAL! :)

This is what is Lee-Ann said about her layout, "I snapped a photo of this adorable bicycle all decorated with a basket of flowers outside my local scrapbook store and thought the soft, vintage collection from Crate Paper (Pretty Party) was perfect. Besides the chipboard die cuts, I also embellished with some wood veneer flower shapes, pearls, lace, mist splatters and finally some machine stitching around the outside edge of the background paper."

Did you upload your Summer Time themed layout yet? :)

"This Looks Like Trouble" LO by DT Lindsey K.

Today, DT Lindsey K. shares with us this beautiful Summer Layout with bright and fun colors!
Lindsey said, "So I have to admit, this turned into a whole lot of fun! Who knew that themed paper and die cuts (two of the things I reach for the least) would lead me into a super colorful, fun page! I had a blast putting little details next to the requirements - like droplets and teardrops I had forgotten about, yellow bling I had tucked away, and fishy fish that would probably still be swimming around a hundred years from now!"

"Summer Fashion" DT by Kerry B.

Summer wouldn't be Summer without fashion, right? :)  DT Kerry does a wonderful job on her Summer  themed layout using great summer die cuts.  Take a look:
Kerry said, "I don't have many pre-made die cuts so I thought I had better use them as my starting block. Luckily some of them were part of a paper range from S.E.I. called Vanilla Sunshine that went so well with these photo's of my eldest daughter and her friend out shopping! One sheet was completely fussy cut to provide the flowers and the cutest little humming bird (I wish I had bought two sheets now!) I added some die cuts from My Little Shoe Box (Sunday Market) as they were lovely and bright. A few word stickers and a smattering of sequins and I was done. I would love to see your summer inspired pages so please play along with us and brighten our day. xx"

Have you checked out the Summer Time Challenge

Kelly said, "Oh the summery days in Texas can be super HOT but out on the lake with a little 6 month old makes it all so much more fun! I really enjoyed creating this layout with tons from my stash. Everything on this layout is completely mixed from different lines and with some of it being years old. Can't wait to see more awesome summer layouts this month!"

"Joes Crab Shack" LO by DT Robin R.

Yummy! Doesn't that look good? Robin did a fantastic job using summer themed paper and embellishments on this layout! I love the how she added the waves throughout her layout! Cute!!
Here's what Robin said, "Summer papers are my FAVORITE! I cannot resist them. I have so many different once. I was thrilled to have the perfect excuse to finally use my October Afternoon Seaside collection from 2010?! I still love it today as much as the day I bought it, therefore, I had a lot of fun playing with it.

I used some of the cardstock stickers that came with the collection. I altered the crabs and the anchor by covering them with Liquid Glass to make them look epoxy. And if you take a really close look, you can see googley eyes on the crabs. I believe those came into my house when my mom moved in with me over 9 years ago! LOL

I also used some Studio Calico vellum die-cuts from their Atlantic collection, great color and theme coordination with my layout.

I thoroughly enjoyed this challenge!"

What summer collection will you be using on your layout? You have until August 29th to upload your layout!  For challenge details click HERE.

You can also see the three premade die cuts as well that I did have in my stash to use for this challenge. I loved the different elements that came together and created a summer layout!"

"Hello, Life is Better at the Beach" LO by DT Dulcinea S.

Happy Scrappin' Saturday Crafters!  Are you home scrapping?  Or Outside enjoying the Sun?
DT Dulcinea's layout makes me want to go outside and enjoy the Sun!  I really like the way the anchor paper really ties in the photos and summer! Take a look:
Dulcinea said, "I usually don’t use so many picture 4x6, but I have this three old pictures about my niece and I could not choose just one or two, so I try to work with them. The most difficult thing when I work with many big pictures is that I don’t have space enough for playing, so I try to angle the picture and I use a 6x6 Glitz’s paper for my title and I concentrated all my embellish on the picture for have some fun but also some white space. The good thing is I could use this enormous die cuts from Amy Tangerine and Dear Lizzy collection I have on my stash without worry with the size since is smaller than my photos."
